Jarrah honey TA50+, Forest Fresh 250gms
Jarrah honey is a unique and delicious honey that tastes great as well as having significant therapeutic properties.
It comes from the ancient wild forests of south western Australia which is the only place in the world where the mighty Jarrah trees grow. (Latin name: eucalyptus marginata).
Reaching up to 50 metres tall, these giant trees take at least three to four hundred years to reach adulthood and flower only when conditions are right.
That makes the Jarrah honey scarce as well as special.
Its unique qualities include a naturally high fructose to glucose ratio. So in normal use it will never crystallize and stay liquid and good to eat for ever.
Moreover it is a rich, thick and lovely tasting honey, having a distinctive flavour that is not too sweet and has pronounced caramel notes.
Remarkably, many Jarrah honeys also have a natural strong anti-bacterial potency.
This derives from the unusually high levels of hydrogen peroxide often found in Jarrah honey.
Laboratory tests show that this particular Jarrah honey is exceptionally potent with a Total Activity (i.e. TA) rating of 50+. In other words the honey has the same bacterial killing ability as a 50% phenol solution.
This means Jarrah honey can not only help with sore throats and mouth conditions, but also has the potential to help in treatment of skin issues like tinea and similar fungal conditions.
