Tasmania's (and Australia's) largest producer of leatherwood honey - R Stephens is one of the few producers to make its leatherwood honey available in this firm, candied style.
It is 100% pure honey. It contains no additives, chemicals, colouring, gluten, or anything artificial.
But it isn't liquid, or runny. Instead it has been allowed to crystallize, or candy, as all honey eventually does. And then its been carefully, and occasionally stirred to give it the thick, rich texture of candied honey.
Many honey lovers prefer their honey candied; they reckon its easier to use, easier to handle and easier to store. There's less chance of a mess, or spillage, and compared to liquid honey it is easier to spread with a knife.Of course this is a genuine leatherwood honey so it has all the delicious and unique flavour of Tasmanian leatherwood honey. It has a lovely, sweet perfume and an intense, appealing taste.
